Terms of use

Last updated: 17 October 2026

These are the ground rules for using Capítula. We wrote them to be understood; if anything is unclear, ask us at hola@capitula.app.

1. Who we are and what you agree to

Capítula is a reading-journal app provided by Capítula. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Minimum age

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. If you are between 14 and 18, you confirm that your parents or guardians know about and accept these terms. Minors' accounts are private and have extra protections.

3. Your account

4. Your content is yours

Everything you write, note or upload remains yours. You only give us the permission we need to store it, sync it across your devices and show it where you choose (for example, on your public profile if you switch it on, or on the cards you decide to share). That permission ends when you delete it or delete your account.

Your private journal is private: we don't publish it, and we don't use it to train models or for advertising.

5. Acceptable use

We want Capítula to be a nice place. You may not:

If someone breaks these rules we may remove content, limit features or close the account, proportionately and with an explanation where possible.

6. Books, stores and affiliate links

Book information (titles, authors, covers) comes from public and community sources and may contain mistakes. When you tap "Get it" we send you to external stores (Amazon, Casa del Libro, Fnac, independent bookshops…). If you buy through those links, Capítula may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. The purchase is between you and the store, under its own terms.

7. Price

Capítula is free. If we ever offer paid extras (for example, decorative items), they will be sold through the App Store or Google Play, with a clear price before you pay and those stores' purchase and refund terms. Nothing essential about the journal will stop being free.

8. The service

We work to keep Capítula running well and always available, but there may be interruptions, changes, or features that evolve or go away. We recommend turning on sync or exporting your data now and then.

9. Liability

We are liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for anything the law does not allow us to exclude. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for the content of third-party sites. Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer.

10. Leaving

You can delete your account whenever you like from the app (Profile→Settings→Account→Delete account) or from the web. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change anything important, we will tell you in the app with reasonable notice. If you keep using Capítula afterwards, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts where you live and you keep the protections of the law of your country of residence.
